Prince Stephen came to America to escape responsibility. But what he found complicates his life more than ever.

Corina Del Rey is happy with her life in Melbourne, Florida. She spends her days engrossed in her career as a journalist and has her sights set on climbing the corporate ladder if for no other reason, to distract herself from her dissolving family. But when she is confronted with the past she fought so hard to put behind her, she struggles to make sense of her future.

Prince Stephen of Brighton Kingdom has moved on since the tragic death of his buddies in Afghanistan. A star professional rugby player, he has no intention of looking over his shoulder at what could ve been.

But when a notice arrives in the mail requiring his and his wife s appearance before the courts to dissolve their marriage, he must deal with the questions rumbling around in his heart. He thought his marriage had been annulled long ago, but his memories of Corina Del Rey remain close. Does he still love her? Can he even find her? Above all, can he tell her the truth about that fateful night in Afghanistan seven years ago? If he does, he might really lose her forever."

My Review:

This is my favorite of the series! Corina is well-known and has money of her own, yet she's a force to be reckoned with. I love how determined she is to make her own way in life and not just fall back on her family's money. Her twin brother was killed in combat and died a hero, in mysterious circumstances and now she's ready to come out of mourning and move on with her life, despite the hardships of her past. Corina is feisty, yet sweet; fun, yet serious; courageous, yet gentle; and so good at keeping secrets. I adored her from the beginning.

On a whim, years earlier, Corina secretly married Prince Stephen. Both thought the marriage was dissolved, but it wasn't. Stephen is determined to annul it, but that just might not be in the plans. Stephen is very stubborn, which was aggravating, and refuses to listen to his heart. He has good reasons to build walls around himself, but he doesn't stand a chance with Corina around. As frustrating as he is, I really liked him and the way he is so down-to-earth. He's such an ordinary guy at heart and ultimately wants what's for the best.

I love a good, clean romance and this one didn't disappoint. There is a mixture of good sparks and bad, yet it all worked in a way that was very appealing. In other words, on the surface, it's a love-hate relationship with deeper feelings buried. I also loved the subtle humor.

There are many moments of self-realization, as well as clarity where religion is concerned. I love the growth that occurs. I believe that we all have many things to learn and to improve upon and I love it when characters go through events that change them. There is also a dash of fantasy that was a fun and unexpected element.

Content: mild romance (kissing, very vague talk of being married); mild violence (descriptions of war, not graphic); moderate religious elements (as mentioned above); no language. Clean!
